A Unique Historic Instrument at the Hauser Workshop Museum

This beautiful, unique instrument has been on display at the Hauser Workshop Museum since 1949, alongside the original blueprints.

From Design to Prototype

In 1947, Hermann Hauser I designed a very special guitar – a jazz guitar. Two years later, in 1949, the prototype was created.

The Modern Version: Max Amberger CCJ582

In honour of this historic instrument, Hermann Hauser III and Klaus Wolfgang Wildner, the two founders of the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation, decided in 2006 to create a modern version of the guitar. The result was the “Max Amberger CCJ582”, based on the original plans but featuring a cutaway. While not following current trends, this new guitar brings the unmistakable sound of the 1949 Hermann Hauser jazz guitar into the present.
